HAIR MASK FOR LONG HAIR

Last Summer, I decided to cut my hair just below my shoulders, which was a very drastic change for me. Although I did like it, I am extremely indecisive and get easily bored, so found myself wanting my long hair back again... But, as I'm sure a lot of you are aware, growing your hair is an extremely long and tedious process. The following DIY is super weird but it appeared to be the most popular and effective DIY treatment that I found, and it definitely worked for me!

The beauty of this DIY is that you only need 3 ingredients & most people already have these lying around in their kitchen! You will need eggs, olive oil and coconut oil. You will also need something to wrap your hair in, you can use a hair-cap but clingfilm will work fine! I tried out this method and even though it's gross, it really does work if you use it once every 3-4 weeks!

Firstly, you're going to want to grab a bowl and break two eggs in it.

Then, add 4 tablespoons of olive oil. You may need to add more or less depending on the length of your hair.

You're going to want to then take a fork and stir the ingredients together until the olive oil and eggs become one mixture.

The end result should look like the image below... Then, you're going to want to put this mixture over your hair. Focus it on the roots and really massage it into your scalp. Be generous with the amount you use, but you don't want it soaked to the point where it drips everywhere...

I then like to tie my hair in a bun and put the cling film over it to keep it warm and stop the mixture from running. Leave this on for an hour. After this you can go in the shower and completely wash the mixture out- I'd recommend using cool water as it is less damaging for your hair. Your hair may be a little knotty initially.

Whilst your hair is damp, apply the coconut all over it, again mainly focusing on the scalp area. Tie your hair in a bun again and put more cling film over it. Leave your hair over night and sleep with it in. Finally, in the morning you can wash it out. You may need to shampoo your hair a few times to ensure all the oil is removed... and you're done!

I personally do this every 3/4 weeks, you don't want to do it too often. Most people see results quickly. The protein in the egg helps your hair grow and the oil's help nourish it!

  2. I'm always in limbo with my hair, used to have really long hair and then I went for a drastic change and got a long bob and ever since I have been stuck between wanting it long and then getting bored again so I cut it lol. This is a great hair mask though, and if I have a phase where I want to grow my hair out I'll defo try this :)
