LA ROCHE POSAY

After reading so many good reviews on the Effaclar Duo by La Roche Posay on social media, I knew I had to get the product and try it out for myself. I purchased this last year but never got around to using it as my skin had cleared up. With this heatwave in the UK though (and no, I'm not moaning haha) I found my skin becoming excessively oily again, leading to more blackheads and bigger pores. So I thought this was the perfect time to give the product a try! It is slightly pricey for a drugstore brand, retailing at £15, and today I'll be telling you whether it's worth the splurge...

I first heard of the Effaclar Duo after Tanya Burr kept popping up in YouTube advertisements. I initially dismissed it, assuming it was just a paid sponsorship and probably wouldn't be worth the hype. However, after watching loads of skincare routines, it quickly became apparent that this product was incorporated in a lot of people's regime's. This product supposedly unclogs pores, smooths your skin, controls shine and fights against/ corrects the appearance of marks and blemishes. I had extremely high expectations of the product and it certainly didn't disappoint! In fact, I'd go as far as to say it did all of the things it claimed to!

The directions advise using the product once to twice a day over your entire face. I started off doing this but now I only use it as a blemish treatment- so simply apply it to the area's that I feel need it. I often apply it beneath my makeup and then once again before I go to bed. Obviously, it's not crucial to use it twice a day, but from experience, I've found that you get better and quicker results if you do.

I really can't fault the texture of this product- it's lightweight, non-greasy, easily absorbed by your skin and just glides right on! However, it did take around 3 weeks for me to notice a significant difference in the appearance of my skin, so it's important to be patient and to stick with it! The application is very easy, too. It comes in a tube with a pointed end.

I would highly recommend this to anyone with oily or blackhead prone skin- it did wonders for me and I'm sure it will do for you too! I'm also very tempted to try the La Roche Posay toner, as that is something else I have heard good things about. In all honesty, I am very lazy when it comes to toner, but it's definitely something I want to start incorporating into my routine, so keep a look out for that review, as well! Although this product initially seemed a little pricey to me, it's worth every penny and I'm sure I'll be repurchasing it when I run out!

Thanks for reading,
Rikki xx

  4. I adore this product, I think I drive my family mad telling them to use it so the time. It's a real multi tasker for oily and problem skin yet it doesn't dry me out which I love! I love your photos by the way.
